Giriprasad Dinakar
SolarRail thruster specialist with the Indian pirate crew at Thakur Cross.
Rank: Propulsion Specialist
Alignment: Pirate crew
Fate: Dead
First appearance: Thakur Cross Service Station
Water, water, every where, Ne any drop to drink.— Giriprasad Dinakar, last PDA entry (Thakur Cross Service Station)
Giriprasad is a minor character. He is a SolarRail wagon propulsion specialist who joined an Indian pirate crew for personal reasons — a technician, not a bloodthirsty raider.
The player finds his body at Thakur Cross, slumped among the orange service-dock pipes. Beside him is his PDA: a raw personal note from the heat as he dies of thirst — suit reclaimer ruined, reclaim water undrinkable, and Cartic Chauhan's vending ban leaving him with nothing he can stomach.

Water, water, every where, Ne any drop to drinkGod, this dock heat... my head is spinning. I'm so damn thirsty, but I still can't drink. The suit fluid reclaimer is dead on me. If you read this: I'm with the Pirate crew now, but not for blood though - I fix SolarRail thrusters. Joined for my own reasons. Whatever hit me during the attack cooked the reclaim module. "Clean" water stinks like cat piss. Try a sip and my throat closes. It drags me back to Grandma in Bengaluru - that clone cat she loved. That beast reeked, the pee AND the cat. Same stink here. We watched a film on her couch. I remember this: "Water, water, every where, Ne any drop to drink." Look around. It's around me. Cartic banned the vendings after takeover - but he's just a tech like me, not a boss! Won't tell me what credits buy. I'm thirsty!
Trivia
- The PDA subtitle quotes Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere (1798 Lyrical Ballads text): “Water, water, every where, / Ne any drop to drink.” Later editions often use “Nor”; popular culture often misquotes it. In-universe, Dinakar recalls hearing the line in an old film with his grandmother.
